NEWS:

The new ATC Website is live!
On 1 October 2014, our new website, membership system and on-line shop, Tri SPaza, will be live at this address:
www.atcmultisport.club  (you can give it a try now)
This will also be our new domain going forward and from Wednesday all former website links and domains will point to this one.  All our email addresses will also migrate to the atcmultisport.club domain but former addresses will be redirected for a period of at least 1 year.

TSA Registration for Clanwilliam:
If you have not yet received an email from us about the status of your TSA registration, we are not aware of your application.  We expect loads of applications this week, ahead of the Clanwilliam weekend.  Please ensure that you purchase one from our on-line shop, even if you registered on the WP Triathlon MOBII Site.  All applications must reach us by end-of-business tomorrow (Tuesday) otherwise we will not get it processed in time for the weekend.

ATC Office Evening on Wednesday:
We will have an Office Evening at the Oceana Boat Club on Wednesday evening, starting at 18:00.  Please come and pick up your Triathlon gear and complete other admin ahead of the new Triathlon season.  We will also have the Running licenses there if you still need to collect.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK:

Super talented ATC Development runners, Dawood Goeieman and Simone Adams, were selected to compete at the national Top Schools Competition, to be held in Pretoria from 14 to 19 December.

Congratulations to Marilyn Fischer for her second position in the ladies race at the inaugural Enduroman, held in Franschoek on Saturday.  The race was held in cold, rainy, conditions with an icy but beautiful swim, tough but beautiful mountain bike ride and trail run.  Whilst convincing winner, Stuart Marais, described the route as “great” he expressed great respect for everyone who finished this tough race!  Expect a lot of Franschoek mud in bike shops around town this week.  Our congratulations to all, most notably:  Shaun Roos for his second in the 30-39 category (8th overall), Douglas Burger and Ryk Lochner for their 2nd and 3rd in the 40-49 category (10th and 11th overall).  Rounding of the top 20 me were Gareth Sayers and Paul Ingpen.

The Bergriver Cross Triathlon was held at the same venue under similar conditions, but with much more manageable distances.  ATC’s husband and wife pair Adriaan and Candice Van Wijk showed their love for this type of event with a win for Candy in the ladies race and a second overall for Attie, behind youngster Michael Lord.

Tracy Markham was the third lady at the Hever Castle Gauntlet, a half Ironman distance Triathlon in the United Kingdom, yesterday.

This week, the V&A Canal Swim will be on Friday morning at 06:15.  For the next couple of weeks, we will adjust the start time in accordance with first light.  Please note: From now on, there will be NO CANAL SWIM on Saturday afternoons.

WEEKEND:  There will be no training in town this weekend as most of us will be in Clanwilliam.  We are planning a road bike ride from the Clanwilliam Dam Resort Entrance at 08:00 on Sunday morning.

EVENTS:

So this weekend is all about the Freshpak Fitness Festival in Clanwilliam.  All the events, Long Swim, Duathlon / Biathlon and Triathlon take place on Saturday but at different times, so you can do them all.  ATC will host a braai at the Chalets in the Dam resort after the races, before the after-party.  This year’s theme for the after-party is N!    Nything goes except NOT dressing up!

We have some Clanwilliam Triathlon Entries available for substitution.  Please reply to this email if you are still looking for an entry.

ONIGIRI will also be at the festival on Saturday, selling Asian Sandwiches and a variety of drinks.  To guarantee your favourite flavour, please email:  Onigiri

The final event in the Green Forest Trail Series, taking place in the Nuweberg Forest near Grabouw, is on Saturday.  The first 5 ATC readers to find the event on Our New Calendar and follow the link under the Info button will receive a free entry.

The Java Mountain Bike Challenge and Trail run takes place on Saturday from the Van Loveren Winery in Robertson.

The Clifton 1st Sunday of the Month Swim takes place on 4th beach at the summer start time of 09:00.

FUTURE EVENTS:
From Wednesday you will be able to log in to the Two Oceans 2015 entry system and update your personal profile.  First timers will also be able to create a profile.  This will ensure a quicker experience when entries open during November.  Licensed runners will once again be offered the first opportunity to enter so be sure to apply and collect your 2014 ASA License before 15 October (Ultra) or 13 November (Half).

Looking for an entry to the Wine to Whales Ride (3-5 Nov ’14)?  Reply and we will put you in touch.
