CTCT – Training this Week – IAAF Gold Label

NEWS:

We join family and friends of Marilyn Fischer in sending prayers and positive thoughts for Marilyn’s recovery from a critical injury.  Marilyn, who was ATC’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2014 and Ironman Club Champion in 2015, suffered multiple injuries while doing a mountain bike race in Knysna last weekend.  She is still in a critical condition in hospital.

TRAINING:  Details here...

SWIM:  The canal swim will be on Friday morning at 06:00.  We will not start before 6 and may delay the start until it is light enough.

BIKE:  On Thursday morning, at 05:30, we will do a road bike ride from Point Virgin Active.
Supported Training Ride - Saturday
On Saturday we will have a support vehicle accompany us on our training ride.  All members are welcome to join in but please bring R50 to contribute towards fuel and the driver
Please arrive at the Point Virgin Active by 05:30 and be ready to ride at 05:45.

We will ride from the Point, along the cycle paths, to Blouberg and back.  Then we will head out over Chapman’s Peak and Black Hill to Simons Town and back.  This will be 140 Km.  The support vehicle will accompany riders, wishing to do 180 Km, on another 40 Km loop to Chappies and back.
If you are doing the brick, bring a lock to secure your bike during the run.  The support driver will leave after the 140 Km section so there will not be anyone watching the bikes.

RUN:  This week is our monthly time trial.  We will do the 5 Km TT on the track if we can gain access (construction for the CTCT may have started by this afternoon).  Otherwise the Time Trial will be on the road.
