ATC Sunset Team Time Trial:
On-line entries for our Sunset Team Time Trial opened this week.  You would have received a related email earlier this week.  If not, please check your quarantine or junk folders.  More information and on-line entries are available on our SS TTT Even Page.

Train for Bay to Bay:
Embark Running starts their Bay to Bay training program on 21 October 2014.  The program is for the 15 or 30 Km event and suits all levels of experience whilst building routine and structure into your training in a fun, safe and social environment.  For all details visit:  www.embark.co.za  Or email:  STeve@embark.co.za
 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK:

By all accounts the Clanwilliam Fittness Festival was once again a huge success, both on and off the course.  ATC Members delivered some brilliant results and we will report more on this once we have had a chance to study the results in more detail.  For now we would like to congratulate:
Riaan Schoeman for a convincing win in the 1.5 Km SwimJD Neill was 4th and Katharine Neill was the 3rd lady. 
Stephanie Smit for winning the ladies category in the 3Km Swim!  Candice Van Wijk was the 3rd lady.
Bernard Griesel for winning the Biathlon!  He was followed by Henry Wolstenholme and Tiaan Pretorius, both recent additions to ATC.
Jonathan Hartzenberg for winning the Duathlon!  He was followed by Freddy Kruger in second.  Taschyana Hurter was the 3rd lady across the line.  Dawie and Liza Adlem won the team duatlon.
Vicky Van Der Merwe as the winning lady in the TriathlonDean Hopf was second overall with Jonty Low, Andrew Le Roux and STeve Attwell all finishing in the top ten of the flagship event of the day.
 

TRAINING THIS WEEKEND:

Four Passes:  Tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 06:00 we will be doing the Four Passes Ride as training for the Double Century.  All members are welcome, even if you are not doing DC.  It is a tough and long ride, starting from the Simonsrus Shopping centre on the Corner of Cluver Ave & Helshoogte Road.  We will head to Somerset West on the R44, then the back-roads half-way up Sir Lowreys.  Then a short section on the N2 before we turn off to Grabouw.  Over Grabouw Pass, then Franschoek Pass before heading back via Hellshoogte Pass.
 
Canal Swim:  Please note: From now on, there will be NO CANAL SWIM on Saturday afternoons.  The swim will be on Friday mornings at 06:00.
 
Tuesday Track:  From now on, through summer, we will offer TWO track sessions on a Tuesday.  One in the morning at 06:00 and the usual session in the evenings at 18:00.  Members are welcome to join either or both sessions.
 

EVENTS:

Good luck to Jean De Villiers and Adrian Morris, who will be taking part in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii tomorrow (Saturday)!  Paul Kaye, the local voice of Ironman, will be announcing at the prestigious Kona event this year.
 
Celebrating its 9th year, the Slanghoek MTB Classic is taking place on Saturday through the beautiful Slanghoek Valley, on similar routes to the MTB Triathlon taking place on later this month.  Riders stand a chance to win a KTM Area 29er, valued at R26 000.
 
On Sunday is the Gun Run and we are hoping to see loads of ATC’ers along the way.  Good luck to all the members doing their first half marathon or going for a PB.  The ATC gazebo will be set up in the club area.
 
FUTURE EVENTS:
Entries for the One Tonner close on Monday 13 October.  No late entries are accepted for this event.
Note that the Silver Queen Night Race, scheduled for Wednesday 15 October, has been cancelled.
