Supported Long Run – Events – Durban Bike Transport
Our combined NEWS and TRAINING & EVENTS email lists are now too big to send to in a single day. Thanks to you for signing up! So, starting this month, our weekly update will only cover Training and Event details for a particular week, plus a heads up for events coming up down the line. We will save all the Results and other News for a monthly update, to be sent to both lists. Our next monthly update will be sent just before Comrades so we can tell you who is taking part this year.
You can join our Comrades runners this Saturday for their last “longish” training run. The Embark Knysna Marathon and Half groups will also be joining us. See the Training section for details.
Sports Massage Special:

SWIM: The canal swim will be on Saturday afternoons at 16:00.
BIKE: On Thursday we will do a Mountain Bike Ride from the Point Virgin Active at 06:00. There will be no ride this weekend as we are doing the supported Comrades training run and on Sunday is the ONERUN.
RUN: We will have a Track session this Tuesday at 06:00 and on Wednesday at 18:00. Sessions will be on the Green Point Athletics Track unless events are taking place there. In that case, track will be at the Green Point Cricket Club (across the road).
Supported Long Run: On Saturday morning at 06:45, starting from Caprice In Camps Bay, come and join our Comrades runners for their last long(ish) training run. The Embark Knysna Marathon and Half group will also be there. The ATC Ranger will be on duty along the route to support. We will provide Coke, Water and other snacks but you can also load your own nutrition in the vehicle if you wish. It will be an out-and-back run from Camps Bay towards Hout Bay and back. We will have a 14 Km and 20 Km route but you can run further if you wish. All runners are welcome (not just ATC members). We will have breakfast in Camps Bay afterwards.

The PPA Tread Lightly Woman’s Mountain Bike Ride takes place on Saturday on the Backsberg Estate. Ladies only.
The third event in the Cross Country league takes place this Saturday at the Vangate Mall. Out in De Doorns, the Herfsprag Half, will offer 21 Kilometres of autumn splendour in the Hex River Valley.
On Sunday is the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN. Entries are closed but a limited number of late entries will be available at race pack collection, taking place at the Green Point Athletics Stadium on Friday (12:00 – 17:00) and Saturday (09:00 – 14:00). We are looking forward to a great run on Sunday and the ATC Gazebo will be set up in the club area on Bree Street.
On Sunday there are two Mountain Bike events; the Gravel Travel 50 / 25 Km ride from the Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington and the Dirtopia All Mountain Enduro on the Uitkyk Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The latter is a one day stage event where easy riding sections are coupled with sprint sections.
Entries for the Knysna Forest Marathon close on Wednesday, 11 May. The Half Marathon is already sold out but you can still enter through a limited number of charity entries. Bike Transport – Durban 70.3
Focus on the Finish Line is once-again providing a full complement of travel-related services for triathletes doing Ironman 70.3 Durban. Services include Bike Transport, Flights, Accommodation, Transfers and more. From Cape Town, bikes will be transported, as-is, at R1895 return and this will include a bike wash and 30 minute massage.
