TSA Registrations – Clanwilliam Deadlines – ITU Worlds

NEWS:

TSA Registrations
If you are doing any Triathlon before Clanwilliam, or need the TSA number for a race entry, please let us know so we can prioritise your TSA License application.
The deadline for applications for TSA licenses required for the Clanwilliam Festival is Saturday 26 September.  Any applications and payments received after this the date will not be processed in time for the event and unlicensed members will have to pay the day license fees at Clawilliam registration.

Incorrect TSA Numbers:
Please note that the TSA website administrators sent out a batch of 2015 TSA numbers as a test.  This was a mistake and will show your number from last season.  If you receive such an email, kindly ignore this and wait for your 2016 number.

Member Personal News:
Congratulations to Trevor Hodgson and Leigh White who got married this past weekend.  Matt Knight and Jade Kannemeyer got married last weekend.  We wish these newly-weds all the best!

Study on Female distance runners:
The UCT Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine is recruiting participants for a new study at the Sport Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA), Newlands.  The aim is to investigate why some female runners are able to remain lean, while others seem to gain weight with age.  The primary focus will be on metabolic and lifestyle factors.  Female runners, aged 30 to 45, who are either VERY LEAN (BMI of 18 – 21) or OVERWEIGHT (BMI greater than 25) are requested to apply.   Runners must have been running half and/or full-marathons for at least 5 years; must have completed a half or full marathon within the past 6 months and must have been running consistently over the past 6 months (30-60 Km per week).  However, runners should NOT have made a significant change to their diets within the past 6 months and should NOT have a current half-marathon time quicker than 1 hour 50 minutes.
