CWTS & CC Champs - Minimalist Study

NEWS:

Study on Minimalist Runners
The UCT Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, located at the Sports Science Institute of SA (SSISA) in Newlands, is recruiting participants for a new study on the risks of injury in minimalist running footwear.    The study will employ harmless, non-invasive, measures such as breath-by-breath gas analysis, high speed cameras, motion capture cameras and measurement of muscle activity.

Runners between 18 and 50 years of age, who have been injury-free for the past year, and who run barefoot or in minimalist shoes, are requested to participate.  Participants will be provided with a comprehensive assessment of their running biomechanics and muscle activity.
