Results – 70.3 Durban – SA DU Champs – Garmin Forerunner Competition

NEWS:

AGM 2017
The ATC Annual General Meeting for 2017 will be held on Wednesday, 26 July 2017, at the Green Point Cricket Club at 19:30.  The meeting will start right after the Track session, which will also be the 5 Km Club Time Trial for July.  The lucky draw for the Garmin 935 will be after the AGM, which is not expected to take more than 20 minutes.

Win a New Garmin Forerunner 935!
We have a brand new Garmin Forerunner 935 Tri-Bundle to give away through a fund-raiser competition for the ATC Development fund. This awesome prize will be awarded at our July Club Time Trial and AGM on 26 July.  To play, purchase your ticket from Tri SPaza for R50 and we will send you the phrase to post on one or all of the following social media channels:  Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

You can also buy tickets (cash or card) at our bi-weekly Track sessions on Tuesday Mornings and Wednesday evenings.

The competition will end at the Club Time Trial on Wednesday 26 July.  Do some homework by viewing our June (and previous) club time trial results on the Results Blog.

Canal Swim & Track Levy
We have been informed by the Green Point Athletics Stadium that the club will be charged for the floodlights used during our track sessions.  This charge is effective immediately.  This, and other costs of running the Canal Swim and Track Sessions (access control system, barcode tags, SUP, etc.), prompted the committee to make the R50 Training Levy, compulsory for track users as well.  We introduced this levy in 2014 for canal swimmers and have been quite lenient in terms of enforcing this.  However, escalating costs and imminent expenses will force us to be more stringent with collecting.  Expenses covered by this levy include:
·         We recently purchased a new batch of more robust barcode tags.
·         The SUP used at the Canal Swim has had to be repaired a couple of times so we need to build up funds to replace this in the next year or two.
·         The sign-in laptops need to be repaired.
·         The cost of flood lights at track during winter months (as discussed above).

The levy of R50 is charged once per year and will increase to R80 from 1 August 2017.  Members who have recently paid the R50 or who pays before 31 July 2017 will not have to pay again until August 2018.  Members are requested to purchase the levy online or at the next training session.
