RESULTS:

WP Triathlon Champs
Well done to all the members who did the Western Province Triathlon Championships on Sunday at Val de Vie.  Once again the venue did not disappoint and neither did the weather.  The non-wetsuit swim and heat was a major factor for the age groupers.  But none of the above dampened the enthusiasm of the youngsters who did the TribeTri junior events with enough energy to spare to vie for prizes in the lucky draw.

Our congratulations to overall winners Matt Trautman and Celeste Renaud.  ATC was represented on the podium in almost all the age groups!  From one of our newest and youngest members, Caylan Bromley (16-19), to her coach and out-of-category performer, Vivienne Williams (2nd Overall and 50-54 Champ).  Anja Wolstenholme is the 16-19 ladies Champ.  Paula Armstrong and Candice Morison made the podium in the 30-34 AG.  Candice made a great comeback, even after suffering a mechanical, in her first triathlon since she started training with Embark again this year.  Lara Fury, also a newcomer, was second in the 45-49 AG.

Jean Van Wyk (30-34) came second overall and JD Neill 6th (3rd, 30-34).  Tyron Ingle is the 25-29 AG Champ (5th Overall) with Simon Starck taking bronze in this age group.  Nick Turner is the Champ in the 35-39 AG.  STeve Atwell (2nd, 35-39) won the “Chairman’s Challenge” this time, when he beat PTC’s David Talbot to the line.  Kobus Meyer took the 40-45 bronze and Paul Ingpen the 45-49 silver.  Andre Pepler took silver in the 50-54 AG.

Thank you very much to Seugnet Van Der Merwe for the great photos of the ATC and Embark athletes taking part.  We have shared these on our Facebook Page.  You can view awesome images from Brett Nattrass and Chris Hitchcock on their web sites and Facebook pages.

All the results can be downloaded from the on-line version of this newsletter on our News Page.  We thank Great-Time for providing the results.
