ATC SSTTT – ATC AGM – DC Ride

ATC Summer Sunset Team Time Trial

Thank you very much to everyone who helped out at the ATC Summer Sunset Team Time Trial last week.  With an unexpectedly large number of late entries the field increased to over 120 teams, our largest field yet.  But all went quite smoothly and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback.  We have published team results below and are working on the individual lap times, which takes a bit longer, as manually recording times and numbers in the Transition area takes some doing!

If you have some spare time to assist with capturing of the finishers cards, please let us know.

Congratulations to the Eastern Destroyers (Kraaifontein) who blazed through their laps to, once again, take the overall win in 33:31.  Team "Worst Pace Scenario" won the prize for the best team name and "The Running Dead" were certainly the best dressed this time.

Thank you also to New Balance and The RUN Store who were present to demonstrate the latest New Balance running technology.

Unfortunately, due to a medical emergency with one of the runners, we did not get around to awarding the Kelfords Ford-for-a Month.  We are happy to report that the runner is fine.  She was taken to hospital and released on the same evening.

We will draw the winner of the Ford-for-Month at the ATC AGM.  All helpers at the SS TTT and members present at the AGM will be eligible to win the car this month.

TRAINING:  Details here...

SWIM:  The Canal Swim will be on Friday morning at 06:00.  Please DO NOT Park in reserved bays.  There has been a complaint from tenants in the building where our swim starts about members undressing in the parking area.  Please refrain from changing in the parking area.

BIKE:  On Thursday morning we will ride from the Point Virgin Active at 5:45.
On Saturday morning we will do a Supported Long Ride for Double Century Training, starting from the Point Virgin Active at 06:00.  All DC Riders are welcome to join and the ATC Ranger will follow the riders so you can leave extra nutrition in the vehicle.  The ride will be to the Ostrich Farm and back.  Stronger riders can head out further and catch the other riders on the way back.
The ride will be between 120 and 140 Kms.

RUN:  Track will be on Tuesday morning at 06:00 and Wednesday evening at 18:00.  A reminder to have your ATC Tag available to show to the security guard at the turnstile gates.
