Cape Ultra – Freshpak Clanwilliam – Anything Famous

Cape Ultra Tri

By all accounts this was a great event and we look forward to it becoming a permanent fixture on the Cape Triathlon calendar!  Congratulations to all the ATC’ers who completed the inaugural event.  We had our fair share of podiums too and we will report on those in the full newsletter later this month.

Torpedo SwimRun

A new type of multisport event will hit our shores in January, the Torpedo SwimRun!  This emerging multisport format involves racing through sea and land, against nature’s most dramatic settings.  The race will take place on 15 January 2017, from Hout Bay to Clifton and will cover a total distance of 16 Kilometres.  There will be 3 Km of swimming, over 8 segments and 13 Km of running, over 8 segments.

As a taster, you can join a Tour of the SwimRun event, this Saturday, 1 October.  The Tour will introduce you to the sport of SwimRun and will provide a recce of the Sandy Bay to Clifton route.  To book a spot on the tour, please visit:

WEEK (end):

Freshpak Fitness Festival
This weekend is the “official” start of the Triathlon season in Clanwilliam and we look forward to another great weekend of healthy activity and fun!  Not to mention seeing loads of beginners tackling their first Triathlon.  Atlantic Triathlon Club and Embark will be set up in the club gazebo area so come and join us there before and after your Swim, Biathlon, Duathlon and / or Triathlon.  Members are also welcome to join us at the Chalets, after the day’s racing, before we head down to the after-party.  Bring a snack and drink (and your outfit!) and come get into character.  This year’s theme for the party is “Anything or Anyone Famous”!  An easy theme so feel free to go big.
