SA Tri Champs – Warmwater Weekend – AfricanX – Cape Epic

NEWS:

So the unthinkable has happened. The 40th Cape Town Cycle Tour was cancelled, leaving thousands of riders utterly disappointed, after months of training and planning, some having spent large sums of money on travelling and equipment.  But none of this comes close to the potential risk of injury and damage with 20000 plus cyclists negotiating Chapman’s Peak and Victoria Drive in those conditions.  So a good call in the end and we all live to race another day with a guaranteed entry into the 40th event in 2018.

Some good came of this too, as some spoils of the event were donated to victims of the devastating fire that destroyed more than 600 shacks in the Imizamo Yethu informal settlement in Hout Bay.  The Thula Thula Hout Bay Imizamo Yethu Relief Mission is still continuing and you can check the link below for Donations, Transport and Time that can still be volunteered.

TRAINING:  Details here...

SWIM:  The canal swim will be on Friday morning at 06:15.  We will not start before it is light so please do not arrive before 05:45, as this creates too much noise with everyone expressing their excitement while waiting for the start.

BIKE:  On Thursday morning, at 05:30, we will do a road bike ride from Point Virgin Active.
There will be no training this weekend due to the Warmwater Weekend.

RUN:  Track will be this evening (Wednesday) at 18:00.  This coming Tuesday, 21 March, is a public holiday.  We will have track but will start at 07:00.
