TSA Registration for 2017-18 – CPT Marathon & Peace Runs - ITU WTS Grand Finale

NEWS:

ATC’ers have been racing all over the World this past weekends and we will be back with results in our next Full Newsletter.  Today’s email is all about getting a Triathlon license for the 2017-18 season, as there have been some drastic changes.

TSA Registration 2017-18:
Triathlon South Africa is in the process of changing online registration service providers. The MOBII system ceased operating on 30 August 2017.  Unfortunately, their new service provider will not be up and running until November 2017.
Athletes who registered before 30 August, or manually through the CTUTA, will NOT need to register again this season.  Your licenses will be valid for the season.

So for now CTUTA decided to revert back to the system where clubs would sell the TSA Licenses to members and purchase licenses from the Provinces on a weekly basis.  ATC Members wishing to obtain a license must please purchase their license of choice from our on-line shop, under the Membership or License Sections.  The procedure is briefly described below.  You can also visit our About Affiliation Page for more information:

How to get a TSA license:
1)       If you haven't yet, Join or Renew your Atlantic Triathlon Club or ATC Multisport Membership through our On-Line Shop and add your license to the same basket.
2)       If your membership is up-to-date, you can go directly to the Licensing Section and purchase your license of choice.  If you do not have an active membership, you will not be able to purchase the license.  An explanation of the various license types are further down in this email.
3)       Follow the prompt to the payment page and pay the required fee. (By bank Transfer or with a Card at the Club).
4)       ATC will order your license from CTUTA and they will mail your license number to you.

The above must be done at least 1 week before your target race.  ATC will need time to check membership status and payments and assemble the batch orders, which must reach CTUTA by Wednesday each week.

Age Grouper’s League:

A new benefit to licensed athletes is the Age Grouper’s League, sponsored by ATC.   This league will see all TSA registered athletes compete within their official ITU age group at all sanctioned Triathlon and Duathlon events, held within the Western Cape.  An individual’s best 4 results will count.  The winner will be the athlete who performed best within his or her age category.  Points will be weighted in terms of age group size and strength.  The first event in the league will be the Cape Ultra and both distances will count.

Basic rules of the league:
·        Athletes must hold a valid WPT Recreational or Full Racing License for 2017-18 at the time of the event.
·        Athletes must compete in affiliated club, academy or team colours.
·        The league will be based purely on results received from race organisers and will be reliant on these results.
·        All event rules, distances and age categories will be as per event organisers’ plans and will not be changed for purposes of the league.
